About Odyssey Performance Physical Therapy
We help active adults stay strong, keep moving, and build resilience
Odyssey is an Oakland-rooted movement and wellness hub for people who want to stay active, independent, and connected to what matters. We believe care should feel personal, not rushed, and that movement is more than exercise.

Building something different
Odyssey was founded to create the kind of care we wanted to see: quality-first, individualized, and rooted in collaboration. We're here for active adults who refuse to let pain or setbacks define their limits, people who want clear guidance, not cookie-cutter programs or advice to "just stop moving."
What guides us
Our name reflects the journey. Movement and wellness aren't quick fixes. They're ongoing, evolving practices that deserve attention, education, and support. We built Odyssey to be a place where people feel welcomed, heard, and equipped with the tools and knowledge to manage their bodies for the long term.
Do it right
Quality matters. We take the time to assess, listen, and build a plan that actually fits.
Meet people
Everyone's journey is different. We start with where you are, not where we think you should be.
Move together
Movement connects us. We're part of a community that values strength, exploration, and growth.
Work together
This is a partnership. We collaborate, educate, and build solutions that work for your life.
The people behind Odyssey
Our team brings together physical therapy expertise, strength coaching knowledge, and a shared commitment to helping active adults move freely and build long-term resilience. We're practitioners, lifelong learners, and active members of the Oakland and East Bay movement community.

Dr. Angela Aie is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (UCSF) and Certified Functional Strength Coach. She founded Odyssey to create a space where active adults could receive the kind of personalized, quality-driven care she believed was missing in traditional settings.
Angela works with runners, climbers, cyclists, CrossFit athletes, and anyone navigating the challenges of staying active as they age. Her approach blends evidence-based physical therapy with practical training principles, emphasizing education, collaboration, and long-term resilience over quick fixes.

Dr. Ki Cheng is an experienced Doctor of Physical Therapy serving the physical therapy needs of the Bay Area. A life long athlete, he knows firsthand the joy of performance as well as the challenges of preventing and rehabilitating injuries. His own experiences of chronic pain affected his ability to participate in powerlifting and Crossfit. Years of self experimentation and study under various leaders of movement allowed him to recover and continue doing the things he loved, inspiring him to start a physical therapy clinic centered on personalized, patient-focused treatment.
Ki has treated patients with a wide range of lived experiences – from spinal cord injuries to professional athletics. He values that no injury is the same and cares deeply about understanding each patient’s story. His approach is rooted in many domains: physiotherapy, dance/locomotion, yoga, gymnastics, and weightlifting. His treatments center on empowering his patients through the sharing of knowledge and skills that prevent future injuries and sustain long-term health and wellness.
Ki lives in Oakland with his wife Sarah and their cat Jonathan.

Gary received his Bachelor's in Kinesiology from UT Austin and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas State University. He is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and holds a Manual Therapy Certification.
Gary is also an Institute of Clinical Excellence trained practitioner and specializes in spine management/diagnosis (cervical and lumbar) and clinical management of the fitness athlete.
Gary Schneider is dedicated to empowering patients on their journey to better movement and a more fulfilling life. His many years of clinical experience and advanced training fuels his approach, as he strives to help each patient unlock their individual potential to live life to the fullest, without limitations.
He specializes in working with crossfit athletes, weekend warriors, weight-lifters, active adults, and the general athletic population.
Outside of the clinic, Gary embodies an active lifestyle, whether he's playing any recreational sport he can find, exploring hiking trails, participating in CrossFit, walking his dog, or embracing spontaneous fun in the park – a testament to the freedom of movement he champions for his patients.

Dr. Krishan Bhakta is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (Boston University) and Bay Area native who returned home after a decade in Los Angeles and Boston. His interest in physical therapy grew from personal experience recovering from shoulder surgery and supporting his mother through ankle rehabilitation.
Krishan joined Odyssey to prioritize patient-first care over administrative demands. He builds personalized treatment plans around your goals, movement patterns, and real life. Outside the clinic, he enjoys time with family, friends, and golf.
